Hill Skills

The Scottish highlands have some of the most beautiful mountains and lochs in the UK and are home to flora and fauna unique to Britain. Hill walking is a rewarding activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities, but for many, the thought of walking through the high plateaus and steep ridges can seem daunting, too big a challenge, or even dangerous. However, with quality guidance and instruction, everyone can enjoy the excellent mountain ranges of the UK.

Getting in to Hill walking

If you are new to hill walking and want to be guided through some of Scotland’s stunning mountains, whilst gaining essential skills for the hills, then our guided weekend walking course is for you. Skills covered will include basic map reading, clothing and equipment selection, weather, and emergency procedures. You will also discover more about our native flora and fauna and how our landscape was formed.

Further Hill walking
